Lily of the valley has something slightly sharp underneath the sweetness, which tracks for our snake spirit.
Stephanotis is elegant, bridal almost—but also called "Madagascar jasmine," so there's that diaspora echo of something transplanted, blooming somewhere it wasn't originally from.
Dark cherry is bold and indulgent—sensual without being sweet. Decadent, not ornamental.
Osmanthus (桂花) is the deeply Chinese note. It's associated with the moon, autumn, nobility, and the legend of Wu Gang eternally cutting the osmanthus tree as punishment.n Chinese culture it also symbolizes prosperity and romance.
Smoked woods grounds it with warmth, but the smoke is doing thematic work. It implies something that's been through fire and transformed rather than destroyed.
